Ending Violence Against Children (ENDVAC)
ENDVAC is one of LHWC's core programs.
In 2017 HWC had 47 trainers in 6 regional teams conduct 20 formal child protection and parenting programs in Hako communities, reaching approximately 1500 people in a 4-week program.
In 2018 the ENDVAC program will be conducted throughout the year, to schools, sporting events, villages, churches and any public gathering as a one year campaign, supported by UNICEF funding.
After each 3-4 month period, HWC will conduct a Positive Parenting (SPLP) training course to help families develop better strategies in raising children.
We address the Lukautim Pikinini Act emphasising that hitting children is illegal in PNG. During these campaigns, we register families in crisis into our Stret Pasin Lukautim Pikinini (SPLP) or Positive Parenting courses.
Schools, Churches and Community Government are lined up for HWC to come out for more of these groundbreaking changes to attitudes in care and protection of children.
