Women's Integrated Education & Advocacy (WIEA)

The WIEA team works to achieve the HWC objectives to strengthen and encourage marginalized persons or groups of persons in society by providing literacy, life enhancing skills, formal education opportunities and advocating for health services and family well being.

Recent activities

MAY 2016: Parenting  program; partnership provided by UNICEF and Stakeholders
Dorcas Gano,  Ruthy  Sawa  and Charmaine McBreaty  attended the UNICEF parenting training workshop at Port Moresby and shared what Hako Womens Collective and Buka  Family Support Centre are doing with the Positive Parenting program in Haku.

20 NOVEMBER 2015: International Children's Day   
WIEA organized events in all Primary Schools in the Haku area, to raise awareness of children’s rights and the Lukautim Pikinini Act.
2016: Counselling Training at  Nazareth  Rehabilitation Centre   -
Counselling members attended the counselling training: Dorcas Gano, Anna Sapur, Bridgit Tologina and  Crescendah Hoot .

2016: Human Rights training, Chabai
HWC members Anna Sapur, Magdaline Lesi, Clara Omi, Geraldine Valei and Jenitha Pasio attended the training at Chabai.
HWC counsellors &  Trained Men from Positive Parenting Training of Trainers & HWC Human Rights Defenders also attended  the training.
