How you can help

Our work is for the people of our Hako community and in Bougainville, but we know our work can also help, and benefit from, the work of other people and organisations in different places.

Support our work directly

HWC needs help to support its ongoing services.  Key HWC services, such as the Meri Seif Haus and Family Referral Service, are provided free of charge and to provide them we need to cover costs such as electricity, supplies and modest salaries to staff. We make every Kina go a  long way, and any donation is helpful - especially if made regularly.

Support organisations that help us

Work towards the same goals

We are proud of what we have achieved, but we couldn't have done it without help. We have received essential funding or other support from various organisations, including the following, and we encourage you to find out more about them and their work:
PiCCA - Partners in International Collaborative Aid
Indigo Foundation
AVI  (previously Australian Volunteers International)
Unicef

Many of the problems we struggle with are shared by communities throughout the world. All of us benefit from progress on these issues, whether in local communities or internationally. The key issues targeted in our HWC Objectives are:
  • promoting a secure, just and peaceful society;
  • women's empowerment and participation in all aspects of society;
  • freedom from family and sexual violence;
  • protection of the environment and mitigation of climate change;
  • sustainable and fair development;
  • support for vulnerable and marginalised people, including people with disabilities
  • equitable access to education, information and opportunities.
