FIFTEEN YEARS OF HAKO WOMEN'S COLLECTIVE

Fifteen years ago, Hako Women's Collective was formed by women with a vision to rebuild their communities after a decade of civil war. What they have achieved in that time has been extraordinary and has benefited people throughout Hako and across Bougainville. Nothing has been easy, but HWC has stayed true to its vision and has become a loved, respected and trusted organisation which has helped thousands of people through its support of vulnerable women and children, training programs, human rights advocacy, provision of resources, capacity building  and support of sustainable development.
Currently HWC are constructing a new building which will be the new Meri Seif Haus. This will allow  HWC to support more women and children, with better facilities.
